"Bringing Communities Together Through Young People"
Muslim Women's Work
We are currently working in West Yorkshire to establish a Muslim women’s development and outreach project.

We aim to develop a network of Muslim girls and women in West Yorkshire that can help identify issues and develop strategies and projects that can have a long and lasting positive affect on their lives and that of others.

Away-days have already been organised and more work is in the pipeline. Our first excursion was a day out in Blackpool where Muslim girls and women from the ages of 6 to 60 enjoyed a day out at the zoo. The success of this has already resulted in requests for another away-day but this time to London.

This demand was soon acted upon and the London trip was oversubscribed. It started off with a tour around the sites of central London and ended up with a shopping spree in Southall. The day was enjoyed by all.

The project and network of women involved has substantially grown, with signs that some are already planning their own trips. Well done to all involved!
